Office of Management and Budget officials started their comprehensive review of the “Uniform Guidance with an ambitious deadline: complete the task in 2023. But wading through hundreds of detailed comments they received and deciding what to do about them has caused OMB to hit the reset button. Now, they’re targeting release of a new version during the first quarter of 2024.
Predicting the future may be risky, but trolling through those comments can provide some good evidence about what likely will be forthcoming. Based on an analysis and evaluation of the comments, this webinar will highlight the features in the Uniform Guidance that are likely to emerge. And we’ll offer “readiness steps” for recipients and subrecipients to start crafting in anticipation of federal grants management rules that they’ll be living with for the foreseeable future.
The webinar will cover:
- Revised dollar thresholds:
- Single audit coverage
- Equipment and supplies
- Fixed amount awards
- Modified total direct cost base
- Asserted burden reduction measures:
- Overhaul of prior approvals
- Updated definitions
- Needed clarifications of existing policies:
- Subrecipient and contractor determinations
- Incurring closeout costs
- Challenges to controversial proposals
