Oct. 1, 2024, is the day the feds turn the page to a revised set of policies governing the award, administration and oversight of federal grants. The Office of Management and Budget has instructed all federal grantor agencies to fully adopt the latest version of the “Uniform Guidance” by that date.
Of course, funding agencies, recipients and subrecipients been administering awards relying on earlier versions of the Guidance. Some of these existing policies have been clarified … others have been reinforced by stricter language … and a few aren’t changing. And OMB has made still other significant, and often subtle, revisions that affect all stages of the federal grant lifecycle.

- Changed dollar thresholds affecting procurement, property management and audits
- Pared down list of prior approval requirements
- Domestic and other procurement preferences
