The federal requirements for subrecipient management have just been reissued by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). They lay out the general steps pass-through entities must take to engage with subrecipients and add important adjustments to current requirements. But they continue to stop short of showing how to apply those steps in the wide variety of situations that pass-through entities routinely confront.

When awarding funds to subrecipients, pass-through entities inherit a big responsibility for overseeing those subrecipients throughout the entire subaward lifecycle. This comprehensive webinar will highlight those compliance duties and fill in the best practice gaps. We’ll cover:

  • Making a defensible determination that a subrecipient relationship is warranted
  • Applying “differential accountability” among diverse subrecipients
  • Considering use of fixed amount subawards
  • Conducting pre-award risk assessments
  • Crafting sound and compliant subaward agreements
  • Providing technical assistance — when and how
  • Recognizing subrecipient indirect costs and properly using the de minimis rate
  • Handling payments to subrecipients
  • Balancing new requirements on subaward reporting frequency
  • Employing prudent enforcement measures
  • Monitoring from a distance and up close
  • Creating instructions for timely subaward closeout
  • Tracking subrecipient single audit compliance and resolving audit findings

Who Will Benefit:

  • Grants Managers
  • Sponsored Projects Administrators
  • Executives
  • Finance Directors
  • Legal Counsels
  • Accounting Staff
  • Internal Auditors
